Refilling a Prescription from the Patient Folder

Prescriptions can be refilled from the patient's Profile tab. This is the most convenient method when the patient does not know their prescription number(s).

To refill a prescription from the Patient Folder:

  1. Search for and select the patient.
  2. Select the Profile tab.
  3. Select the prescriptions that need to be refilled.
  4. Select the Refill button.

    The Ready Time window appears.
  5. Enter the appropriate Ready Time.
  6. Select OK. The Rx Detail window appears.
  7. Verify the following information:
    • The Last Fill date is within a reasonable time to dispense based on the days supply.
    • There are refills remaining.
      •  If there are no refills remaining:
        • The main tab is named Rx: ReAuth and not Rx: Refill.
        • QA will be 0 (zero).
        • A message displays in the Alerts section.
    • The remaining information is correct.
  8. Select the Fill button to process the prescription.
    • If filling multiple prescriptions, the next record will appear when the current record is finished processing.

Note: If a prescription that has no refills is refilled, a label set will print and the prescription will remain in the Pending tab until it is authorized. For more information, see Creating an Authorization Request.
